Objective: With the support of our partner Childaid Network, Germany, IDEA initiated the “Enhancing Child Education in Tea Garden (ECETG)” project in December 2023. The one-year-long project is intended to improve the overall quality of primary education for students by enhancing teacher skills, updating curriculum materials, and fostering an inclusive and conducive learning environment.

  Project Location:  ECETG project will work with the 06 primary schools of Goolni, Kalagul, Borjan, Choragang, Tarapur and Hiluachara tea gardens of Sylhet Sadar and Gowainghat Upazilla of Sylhet District.

Main Activities:

  • Learners Mapping, Baseline Survey, End-line Survey
  • Improve classroom and playground
  • Establish school library
  • Drinking water arrangement
  • Support and ensure sanitation and hygiene practice
  • Support pedagogy materials
  • Organize co-curricular activities, and incentives for teachers
  • Re/activate SMC, Formation of Students Council, Organize Parents Meeting
  • Organize Day observation of significant days (4 days)
  • Support organizing the Annual Sports and Cultural program
  • Develop teachers’ training modules, organize basic and refresher training for teachers, organize exposure visits for teachers
  • Orientation for SMS and teachers, advocacy meeting with stakeholders
  • Project launching workshop, workshop with stakeholders, workshop with garden authorities
