LEAD Bangladesh aims to empower young people in Bangladesh as leaders in their communities to identify innovative, sustainable solutions to local and global challenges in the areas of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). It focuses on increasing youth engagement, voice, agency and participation in policy development in Bangladesh and to continue to develop future change-makers with a global perspective. The young people across Bangladesh will interact with professionals and sector leaders among the Bangladeshi diaspora community in the UK. By drawing on the perspective of diaspora leaders and connecting them to aspiring youth leaders, the project expects to identify new pathways to collaboration and support for Bangladeshi youth so that they can make a more outstanding contribution in development while upholding the values of global citizenship. The project will also help the diaspora leaders to develop further their 2 understanding, ideas and actions for sustainable development in Bangladesh and their community in the UK.
